Lexa Walsh at Keys that Fit

I am a great admirer of Lexa Walsh. Her strength of vision and character has fueled her art to many dangerous margins of confrontation and engagement. I can’t label her work in one category: visual art, certainly, I think I know that much. Although the latent performance qualities inherent therein make her seem like a displaced rockstar…oh, she is that too. In this latest piece “Take a picture with an Artist,” a continuation from a long running project of hers, she tipifies this ability of hers to traverse the area between her and you, between the artist and the audience.
